Southern Spanish port city of Cadiz hit by 4-hour power outage
Spanish officials say a major power outage left some 100,000 people in the southwestern port city of Cadiz without electricity for up to four hours.
A city spokesman said the outage between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. Tuesday was caused by line failures in a city power station. He said it affected most city districts although not all at the same time.
He said the time of the outage meant its effect on businesses and households was limited. He said police were deployed to coordinate traffic until power was restored.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity in keeping with town hall regulations.
