Showtime’s ‘Dexter’ Renewed for Sixth Season
Cable network Showtime announced Monday that it has renewed its serial killer drama “Dexter” for a sixth season.
David Nevins, President of Entertainment for Showtime Networks, called the renewal “the easiest decision I’ve made since I got to Showtime.”
The show’s fifth season ends on Dec. 12. Ratings for the Nov. 28 episode were up 43 percent from the season’s Sept. 26 premiere.
“To grow [‘Dexter’s’] audience so significantly in its fifth season is an enormous accomplishment by this amazing cast and crew,” Nevins said in a press release.
The sixth season of the show is set to go into production in Los Angeles in Spring 2011.
“Dexter” stars Michael C. Hall as a police forensic expert in Miami who is also a serial killer targeting other serial killers.
