Sherrod Brown To Become Ranking Member On Banking Committee

Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown will be the ranking Democrat for the Senate Banking Committee in the coming session. With Chairman Sen. Tim Johnson stepping down at the end of this session and Republicans winning the majority, Brown will be the Democratic Party's leader on the committee. Brown has been considered a critic of "too big to fail" financial institutions and has teamed up with Republican Senator David Vitter of Louisiana on legislation to prevent taxpayer bailouts of financial institutions.
