On a per-share basis, the Hoffman Estates, Illinois-based company said it had net income of $1.84. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $2.40 per share.
The department store operator posted revenue of $6.21 billion in the period.
Sears shares have declined 29 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 34 percent in the last 12 months.
