Search For Survivors After 2 Marine Helicopters Crash Off Hawaii: Reports

Two Marine helicopters have collided off the coast of Oahu in Hawaii, with the 12 people on board feared dead, media reports said Friday. Authorities are searching for survivors of the crash, believed to have happened just before midnight local time. The Marine Corps. confirmed that an active search and rescue bid is under way for two CH-53 helicopters, in a post to its official Twitter account. Each of the aircraft was carrying six people, a Coast Guard representative to the Associated Press. Debris has been found just over 2 miles off the coast near the town of Haleiwa, the AP report said. The cause of the crash is unknown.
