Sanders 'sickened' To Learn Congressional Shooting Suspect Volunteered For Campaign

Sen. Bernie Sanders said Wednesday he was "sickened" to learn the suspected shooter at a congressional baseball game had apparently volunteered for his presidential campaign. "I am sickened by this despicable act," said Sanders, who competed against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. President Donald Trump said earlier Wednesday that the suspect in the shooting has died after being shot by police officers. Reports identified the suspect as James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Ill. Sanders said he condemned the action "in the strongest possible terms."
