Rick Perry To Be Named Trump's Secretary Of Energy: Report

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has been picked by President-elect Donald Trump to be secretary of energy, CBS News reported late Monday night. Perry, who ran against Trump in the Republican presidential primary, reportedly met with Trump on Monday in New York. Perry currently is a board member of Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners LP , which is building the disputed Dakota Access Pipeline, a project Trump has publicly supported. During his presidential primary run in 2012, Perry called for the Department of Energy to be eliminated, though he notoriously forgot the name of the department during a debate.
