Report: Developer courts Stockton University, gas company to anchor Atlantic City project

An AC Devco board member says the developer is courting Stockton University and South Jersey Gas to anchor the Gateway redevelopment project at the site of the old Atlantic City High School.

The Press of Atlantic City (http://bit.ly/1JeHhZi) reports the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority approved the redevelopment plan Monday. It includes academic and corporate uses.

Christopher Paladino says the developer plans to make a proposal to Stockton after the school resolves legal issues involving Showboat property it bought in December. He says plans for South Jersey Gas to build corporate headquarters at the Gateway are closer to being finalized.

University spokeswoman Sharon Schulman says Tuesday the school is interested in the Gateway project but can't commit to it yet. A gas company spokesperson couldn't be reached for comment.
