Reid Aims For Senate Vote On Spending Bill Later Friday

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he hopes to vote on a bill to fund most of the government through September later on Friday. The House passed the measure late Thursday, along with a two-day bill extending current government funding. The Senate has until midnight Saturday to pass the long-term, $1.1 trillion funding measure. The massive spending bill was only narrowly approved in the House following a revolt by Democrats over a provision repealing part of the Dodd-Frank rules on Wall Street.
