Redbox Owner Outerwall Up 7% After DVD Rental Price Rise

Gains from Outerwall Inc. highlighted activity in the tech sector Monday. Outerwall shares rose 6.5% to $67.80 after the company's Redbox video-rental kiosk unit said it would raise the price of DVD rentals by 25% to $1.50 a night. Other gains came from Apple Inc. , GoPro Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. . The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index rose 23 points to 4,736.
