Recalls this week: electric blankets, halogen light bulbs

Electric blankets that can overheat and start a fire are among this week's recalled consumer products. Others include faulty halogen light bulbs.

Here's a more detailed look:

ELECTRIC BLANKETS

DETAILS: Shop LC's heated micro plush flannel sherpa throw blankets. "Homesmart" can be found on a label on the sherpa side of the blanket. All blankets with date code 22217 and model number OB205B2 are included in the recall. The date code is printed on the bottom right corner of the textile label, sewn on the fleece side of each blanket. They were sold by Shop LC television networks airing on DirecTV channels 75 and 226, Dish Network channels 274 and 225, AT&T channels 399 and 1399, Verizon channel 159, Comcast, Cox, Time Warner, Charter, Roku, Amazon Fire, Google Chromecast, Samsung Smart TV and at www.shoplc.com from November 2017 through January 2018.

WHY: The blankets' heating coils can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards.

INCIDENTS: Four reports of the blanket found burning, including one report of a minor burn injury to a consumer's lower body.

HALOGEN LIGHTBULBS

DETAILS: GTC halogen light bulbs. They were sold in packages of 2 or 4 bulbs. The bulb packages were sold in 25 watt, 40 watt, 60 watt, 75 watt, or 100 watt bulb varieties in either clear or soft white colors. The bulbs measure approximately 4.5 inches in length and 2.375 inches in diameter. The tops of the bulbs read "GTC" and include the wattage and lumens values. The bulbs are packaged in blue and red cardboard boxes that read: "GTC NATURAL LIGHT" across the top, along with the wattage and color of the bulb. The UPC codes are printed on the product packaging. They were sold at H-E-B stores in Texas or at www.heb.com from August 2015 to December 2017. WHY: The halogen light bulbs can shatter while in use in a lamp or light fixture, posing laceration and fire hazards to consumers.

INCIDENTS: 14 reports of the light bulbs shattering while in a lamp or light fixture. One consumer had a cut on his hand, and another had a burn to his hand and cuts on his foot.

HOW MANY: About 2.5 million.

BEVERAGE DISPENSERS

DETAILS: Primo hTrio Multi-Purpose beverage dispensers purchased on or before December 31, 2017 which provides both hot and cold water and brews 6, 8, and 10 ounce hot beverages. Model numbers 601225, 601229, and 601240 are printed on the bottom of the product and Primo is printed on the front. They were sold at Sam's Club and at Amazon.com, and Wayfair.com from January 2017 through December 2017.

WHY: Hot water can drip from the machine when it is used in high altitude areas over 6,000 feet in elevation, posing a burn hazard to users.

INCIDENTS: Three reports of hot water leaking from the product being used in high altitude areas, including one burn injury to a customer's hand.

HOW MANY: About 11,000.

TRACTION ELEVATORS

DETAILS: Traction residential elevators with models LLT-952, LLT-953, LLT-954 and LLT-955 shipped and installed between January 2015 and April 2017. The recalled elevators are used in consumers' homes. "Residential Elevators" is printed on a label on the operating panel inside the elevator cab. They were sold by Residential Elevators' dealers and home builders nationwide from January 2015 through April 2017.

WHY: The elevator cab can rise unexpectedly to the top of the elevator shaft and abruptly stop, posing an impact hazard to consumers in the elevator cab.

INCIDENTS: Four reports of the elevator cab rising unexpectedly to the top of the shaft. No injuries have been reported.

HOW MANY: About 3,700.

CROSS TRAINERS

DETAILS: Octane Fitness XT- One elliptical cross trainer. "Octane Fitness" is printed on the rear of the keypad and the side of the cross trainer. The cross trainers measure 33 inches by 99 inches. These standing elliptical cross trainers were sold in various shades of gray, green and orange. The machines have steel tubing with plastic shrouds and a 10-inch glass capacitive touch screen or a large LED display with integrated capacitive buttons. Only cross trainers with model numbers XT5700 are included in the recall. The model name XTOne is printed on the incline support column. They were sold at specialty fitness stores, distributors and direct sales to commercial clubs and gyms nationwide from August 2015 through November 2017.

WHY: The incline lead screw can shear off, causing the foot pedals to drop unexpectedly, resulting in a fall hazard to the user.

INCIDENTS: Seven reports of the foot pedal dropping unexpectedly, including one report of a scrape to the knee or leg area.

HOW MANY: About 570.
