Publicis Buying Sapient For $3.7 Billion In Cash
French advertising group Publicis SA announced a $3.7 billion all-cash deal to buy Sapient Corp. of the U.S. As part of the deal, Publicis will pay $25 for each Sapient share, a price that represents a 4% premium to Sapient's closing stock price on Oct. 31. The deal has been approved by the boards of both companies. The deal comes ahead of a plan due to be announced Friday by Publicis, in which the company will lay out its plans to boost growth from digital advertising.
