Pickup truck strikes empty Southwest jet at Boston's Logan airport; no injuries reported
A pickup truck has struck an empty Southwest jet parked at Boston's Logan International Airport, but no injuries have been reported.
An airport spokeswoman says the truck made contact with the jet early Monday.
The jet was empty and parked at a gate.
The spokeswoman says she can't say why the pickup was on the tarmac. Dallas-based Southwest Airlines Co. says the truck belonged to another carrier.
The jet has been taken out of service. As a result, Southwest Flight 771 to Atlanta with 119 customers was delayed about 2 1/2 hours.
The airport spokeswoman says the incident remains under investigation and no one has been cited. It's too early to say whether snow and ice on the ground played a factor.
