PGA of America pulls Grand Slam event in October from Trump course in Los Angeles
The PGA of America is moving its Grand Slam of Golf from Donald Trump's golf course in Los Angeles.
Trump says he met with the PGA of America on Monday and both sides agreed it would be best to not play the 36-hole exhibition at Trump National Golf Club. Trump says in a statement he does not want the PGA of America to suffer consequences from his comments about Mexican immigrants.
The Republican presidential candidate adds that it will give him more time to rebuild his golf course along the Pacific Ocean.
Still to be determined is where the PGA will move the Grand Slam. It had been in Bermuda since 2007. The 36-hole event is for the major champions of the year.
