PepsiCo names West as executive vp of gov't affairs, general counsel and corporate secretary

PepsiCo has named a U.S. Associate Attorney General in the Justice Department as its executive vice president of government affairs, general counsel and corporate secretary.

The appointment of Tony becomes effective on Nov. 24 and he will report to PepsiCo Inc. Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi.

West is replacing Larry Thompson, who is retiring after just over two years in the position. He briefly retired from PepsiCo in 2011 to serve as the John A. Sibley Chair in Corporate and Business Law at the University of Georgia School of Law.

Thompson had been PepsiCo's senior vice president of government affairs, general counsel and corporate secretary from 2004 to 2011.

PepsiCo Inc. is based in Purchase, New York.
