Pentagon Says It Shipped Live Anthrax To Nine States

The Pentagon accidentally shipped live, instead of dead, anthrax to nine states, press reports said, citing a Pentagon spokesman. The anthrax was sent from a Utah lab to labs in nine states. When a Maryland lab detected there was a live sample, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was contacted. There is no known risk to the general public, and no reported case of infection, the reports say.
