Passenger dies after tour bus crashes on Alaska highway near veterans memorial
A tour bus has crashed on an Alaska highway, killing one of the three people on board.
Alaska State Troopers say the Princess Tours bus carrying a driver and two passengers rolled Friday morning on the Parks Highway about 10 miles north of the Alaska Veterans Memorial.
Troopers say the driver reported the two passengers were "significantly injured," and one of them was declared dead by first responders.
Spokeswoman Megan Peters says troopers are providing no other crash details until next of kin of the dead passenger is notified.
Troopers took a call on the crash just after 8 a.m. The crash site is in a rural area 200 road miles south of Fairbanks and 81 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park.
