Paris Raid Rattles Markets, But Losses Kept In Check
Stocks in France and Europe mostly lost ground Wednesday, but kept their losses in check following a police raid in Paris that ended in two deaths. France's CAC-40 recently traded down 0.7%, while the Stoxx Europe 600 lost 0.3%. Travel-related stocks in Europe were among the day's big losers, adding to losses from earlier in the week. Safety plays like gold and the dollar weren't making big moves, with gold futures up 0.1% and a dollar index down 0.1%. Asian markets closed mostly lower, as Paris headlines weighed on sentiment as the trading day wound down there. S&P 500 futures pointed to a roughly flat open, rising 0.1%.
