Oplink To Be Bought By Koch Industries For 14% Premium

Oplink Communications has agreed to be acquired by privately-held Koch Industries for about $445 million in cash. The per-share bid of $24.25 for the optical-networking company represents a 14% premium to Tuesday's closing price of $21.25. Koch said once the deal is closed, Oplink will be managed by its electronics components subsidiary Molex. Oplink's stock is currently halted for news dissemination until 8:30 a.m. ET. Through Tuesday, it had gained 14% year to date, compared with an 11% advance in the S&P 500.
