Oil Settles With a Loss, But Off Session Lows
Oil futures fell on Thursday but settled above the session's worst levels. The Energy Information Administration reported a climb in weekly U.S. crude supplies that was much smaller than what the American Petroleum Institute reported, but the increase was still bigger than market expectations. March crude fell 98 cents, or 1.9%, to settle at $51.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
