Oil Rallies As Dollar Drops; April Contract Set To Expire

Oil futures climbed sharply on Friday, getting a boost from a much weaker dollar as the market readied for the expiration of the April contracts on the New York Mercantile Exchange. April crude , which expires at the close, rose $1.73, or 3.9%, to $45.69 a barrel on Nymex. May crude traded at $46.93 a barrel, up $1.40, or 3.1%. Based on the most-active contracts, oil futures were set for gain of roughly 4.8% for the week.
