Oil Futures Trim Loss As U.S. Rig Count Declines
Oil futures trimmed losses after energy-services firm Baker Hughes said the number of U.S. oil rigs fell to 555 in the latest week, a decline of nine. That's a decline of 1,017 rigs from the same time last year. Gas rigs were down 4 from the previous week to 189 and were down 155 from the same period in 2014. Nymex January crude-oil futures were down 7 cents, or 0.2%, at $42.81 a barrel after trading as low as $41.72 earlier in the session.
