Oil Futures End Lower As Global Growth Worries Rise
Oil futures ended lower Thursday, undercut by worries about global economic growth and a selloff in assets perceived as risky. West Texas Intermediate crude for delivery in May fell 49 cents, or 1.3%, to settle at $37.26 a barrel. Oil futures rallied more than 5% on Wednesday after data showed an unexpectedly large drop in U.S. crude inventories last week. Equities and other assets perceived as risky fell Thursday as investors snapped up assets, such as gold and Treasurys, perceived as havens, with analysts citing an uncertain global economic outlook.
