Oil Extends Losses, Falling Below $75 a Barrel
Crude-oil futures declined further Tuesday, with New York-traded WTI futures under $75 a barrel a week before a much-awaited OPEC meeting. Fears of a supply glut and slack demand have plagued oil futures in recent months, and traders await any signs OPEC could cut down production from its member countries, putting a floor to prices, but that outcome is far from certain. Crude for December delivery recently fell 95 cents, or 1.3%, to $74.68 a barrel.
