Ohio gas prices down to start work week; state prices still above national average
Ohio motorists are paying a bit less at the pump to start the new work week.
The cost for a gallon of regular gas in Ohio was averaging $3.74 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That's 12 cents less than a week ago.
Monday's Ohio price is about a dime lower than a month ago, but it's about 21 cents higher than last year at this time.
The national average Monday was $3.68 per gallon. That's a couple pennies more than a week ago.
Ohio averages range from $3.60 per gallon in Toledo to $3.80 in the Dayton area.
Analysts say unrest in Iraq has kept the price of crude oil higher.
