Ohio gas prices down to start the work week; state prices less than national average
Ohio motorists will find lower gas prices to start the work week.
A gallon of regular gas was averaging $2.84 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That's about 11 cents lower than a week ago. The price has dropped by about a quarter over the past month.
Toledo has the lowest prices among Ohio's metropolitan areas, with a gallon of gas averaging about $2.77.
The national average was $2.93 per gallon Monday, down a nickel from last week and about 26 cents from a year ago at this time.
Analysts say gas prices will likely remain low amid decreased demand and lower crude oil prices.
