Officials say Dallas airport security breach involved man upset over girlfriend leaving
Police say a man blamed for a security breach at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport slipped onto a jet to try to stop his girlfriend from leaving.
An airport police report released Tuesday says Damarias Cockerham of Garland faces a criminal trespass charge. The report says Cockerham on Sunday afternoon "walked" through a checkpoint without identification or a ticket.
Police say Cockerham ran onto American Airlines Flight 1013, boarding for Guatemala City, Guatemala. Police say Cockerham appeared upset, then got off the plane and was arrested. Police took Cockerham's keys, then found his car parked curbside at Terminal D.
The Transportation Security Administration is reviewing the breach and has added more barriers to screening areas at the airport.
Officials didn't released custody information on Cockerham or details on his girlfriend.
