Obama To Nominate Loretta Lynch As Attorney General

President Barack Obama confirmed Saturday that he would nominate Loretta Lynch as attorney general to replace Eric Holder. Lynch, 55, is the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, based in Brooklyn, N.Y. If confirmed by the Senate, Lynch would be the first black woman to serve as attorney general. In an announcement on Saturday, Obama praised Lynch as a "tough, fair, and independent lawyer."
