Nvidia Gains On Better-than-expected Earnings

Nvidia Corp. late Thursday said its third-quarter net income rose to $173 million, or 31 cents a share, from $119 million, or 20 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue grew to $1.23 billion from $1.05 billion. On an adjusted basis, the maker of graphic processing units would have earned 39 cents a share. Analysts surveyed by FactSet on average had expected the company to post a profit of 28 cents a share. Nvidia shares gained 1.4% after hours.
