1. Nu Skin (NYSE:NUS)

Nu Skin (NYSE:NUS) is soaring more than 25% after China's fines against the direct seller of skin products came in significantly less than some feared. Direct sellers have come under scrutiny recently amid hedge manager Bill Ackman's insistence that nutrition company Herbalife (NYSE:HLF) is a pyramid scheme.

2. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is reportedly in talks with Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) to create a set-top box specifically for use on the massive cable provider. There have been reports for years that the world's biggest tech company has wanted to disrupt the cable market.

3. Herbalife (NYSE:HLF)

Herbalife (NYSE:HLF) shares are climbing more than 6% after the company said it would nominate three of Carl Icahn's representatives for the board. The move comes amid a probe by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

4. Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO)

Cisco (NASDAQ:CSCO) said it would invest $1 billion over the next two years in creating the world's biggest network of clouds in a bid to continue pressing on with its Internet of Everything mantra.

5. Yelp (NASDAQ:YELP)

Yelp shares are rallying after analysts at JMP Securities raised the food-review company to "market outperform" from "market perform," according to a report by Reuters.
