News Corp.'s Q2 Adjusted EPS Beats Estimates

News Corp. on Thursday said second-quarter net income was $142 million, or 24 cents a share, compared with $150 million, or 26 cents a share, for the same period a year ago. Sales for the New York based media conglomerate were $2.28 billion against last year's $2.24 billion. Adjusted income was 26 cents a share, two cents ahead of estimates from analysts polled by FactSet. Sales also came in ahead of FactSet views, which were $2.11 billion. Shares of News Corp. -- the parent of MarketWatch, publisher of this report -- ended regular trading Thursday up marginally to $15.22.
