New Hampshire unemployment unchanged, at 4.4 percent for July

The New Hampshire Employment Security office says the state's unemployment rate for July has not changed since April, staying at 4.4 percent.

In July 2013, the seasonally adjusted rate for New Hampshire was 5.2 percent.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for July was 6.2 percent, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from June, and a decrease of 1.1 percentage points from the July 2013 rate.

In New Hampshire, seasonally adjusted estimates for July placed the number of employed residents at 710,920, a decrease of 2,550 from the previous month and an increase of 8,420 from July 2013.

The number of unemployed residents increased by 310 over the month to 32,780. This was 6,150 fewer unemployed than in July 2013.
