New England Institute of Technology plans $120 million expansion for more student amenities

The president of New England Institute of Technology has announced a $120 million expansion project that will add more amenities including the school's first dormitory.

The Providence Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1yyVSLe ) that President Richard I. Gouse announced the plans Tuesday. The school has made a priority of establishing a college campus on the East Greenwich site it purchased seven years ago.

One building includes space for classrooms, technical labs, medical suites for training simulations and administration.

In addition to the East Greenwich campus, New England Tech also has two locations in Warwick.

The expansion project will probably take about three years to complete, with the 400-bed dormitory set to open in 2017.
