Nebraska Abolishes Death Penalty

Nebraska has abolished the death penalty, reports said Wednesday. The state legislature voted 30-19 to override a veto from Gov. Pete Ricketts, a Republican. Nebraska becomes the first state to repeal the punishment since Maryland eliminated it in 2013.
