NC tax breaks approved for 250 IT jobs in Charlotte, 155 jobs at zipper-maker in Oxford

An information technology consulting company plans to create 250 jobs in Charlotte within five years as it hopes to serve the city's big banks.

A state committee that approves North Carolina's main tax break to attract businesses on Tuesday allowed Spectra Growth Inc. to save up to $3 million over 12 years if it meets job and investment projections.

The Charlotte jobs with the Princeton, New Jersey, company must have average salaries of at least $76,000 to get the state tax break. The state program is usually paired with breaks offered by city and county governments.

The committee also approved a tax break for zipper-maker Ideal Fasteners Corp. worth up to $1.3 million over 12 years. The company expects to add 155 jobs at its Oxford plant before 2020.
