NBC To Replace Brian Williams With Lester Holt: Report
Comcast Corp.'s NBC News plans to formally replace suspended "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams with colleague Lester Holt, The Wall Street Journal reported late Wednesday, citing an unidentified source familiar with the matter. Holt had been standing in for Williams on a temporary basis for about four months since the network pulled Williams from the desk for exaggerating his experiences covering the Iraq war. But NBC is also expected to retain Williams in some capacity, the report said. Shares of Comcast ended regular Wednesday trade with a 1.3% gain prior to the publishing of the WSJ report.
