Myanmar Ferry Accident Leaves 34 Dead, More Than 12 Still Missing

A government-run ferry carrying 216 passengers capsized in northwestern Myanmar Friday night, leaving 34 people dead and at least 12 missing, the Associated Press reported. The ferry left the town of Kyaukphyu at around 8:30 p.m. local time and traveled around 80 kilometers (50 miles) before large waves capsized it.
