Mortgage Rates Mostly Steady Ahead Of Fed Decision

Mortgage rates were little moved ahead of the Federal Reserve interest-rate decision. Freddie Mac reported the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.91% in the week ending Sept. 17, up from 3.90%. The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage edged up to 3.11% from 3.10%, the 5-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgage edged up to 2.92% from 2.91%, and the 1-year Treasury ARM averaged 2.56%, down from 2.63%.
