Monster Beverage To Pay $690 Mln For American Fruits & Flavors

Monster Beverage Corp. late Tuesday said it reached an agreement to buy American Fruits & Flavors for $690 million, a company the energy drink maker has worked with since the 1990s. The deal, which is expected to close in the first quarter, will add about $87 million in adjusted operating income for the 12-month period ended Dec. 31, 2015. American Fruits & Flavors had been the primary flavor supplier to Monster. Shares of Monster Beverage were unchanged in after-hours trading.
