Missouri House Speaker John Diehl Resigns Amid Intern Controversy

Missouri Speaker of the House John Diehl resigned his position Thursday after the Kansas City Star revealed texts he and an intern in his office had apparently exchanged, suggesting a sexual relationship. Diehl, 49, a Republican member of the Missouri House for 16 years, lives in the St. Louis area with his wife and three children. The intern is reportedly a first-year college student.
