Michigan: October statewide seasonally unadjusted jobless rate down 0.3 points to 6.4 percent

The state says Michigan's seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate has fallen 0.3 percentage points in the latest month to 6.4 percent.

The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget released the October employment report Tuesday. The jobless rate was 6.7 percent in September and 8.2 percent in October 2013.

The department says October's unemployment rates ranged from a low of 4.1 percent in the Ann Arbor and the Holland-Grand Haven regions to a high of 8.1 percent in populous metropolitan Detroit.

The Detroit-area rate is unchanged from September and down from 8.9 percent in October 2013.
