Michelin-starred Northern California restaurant Manresa damaged in early morning blaze
A top-rated Northern California restaurant is severely damaged and a firefighter is recovering from injuries after an early morning fire.
Santa Clara County Fire Battalion Chief Kendal Pearson says Monday's two-alarm blaze damaged the attic, roof and interior of the renowned Manresa restaurant in Los Gatos. Firefighters arrived at the restaurant within moments since there's a fire station about 100 yards away.
Pearson says the restaurant wasn't destroyed, but one firefighter was injured in a fall while fighting the blaze and was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The popular restaurant received two stars in the 2014 Michelin Guide to restaurants. It had been closed during the July 4 holiday weekend and had planned to reopen Wednesday.
