Mattel Appoints Christopher Sinclair As Permanent CEO

Mattel Inc. said Thursday it has appointed Christopher Sinclair, currently serving as interim CEO, to the permanent position with immediate effect. Sinclair has held the interim role since January, and has served on the toy maker's board since 1996. The company also named Richard Dickson to the role of president and chief operating officer. Disckon has been chief brands officer since January. Shares were trading down 3% and have shed 27% of their value in the year so far, while the S&P 500 has gained 0.4%.
