Marsh & McLennan Beats On Profit, But Revenue Falls Short

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. said Friday it had net income of $294 million, or 54 cents a share, in the fourth quarter, compared with $303 million, or 54 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. Adjusted per-share earnings came to 66 cents, matching the FactSet consensus. The professional services firm said revenue came to $3.246 billion, up from $3.115 billion, but below the FactSet consensus of $3.299 billion. Risk and insurance services revenue rose 4% to $1.8 billion, while consulting revenue climbed 5% to $1.6 billion. Shares were not yet active in premarket trade, and are up 0.1% in the last three months, while the S&P 500 has gained 1.5%.
