MarketWatch Jobs Forecast For January Cut To 235,000

Economic forecasters have chopped their estimate for job creation in January after softer readings in several other employment indicators. Analysts polled by MarketWatch project a gain of 235,000 nonfarm jobs last month, down from an earlier forecast of 245,000. The main reason: a surprisingly large decline in the employment gauge of the ISM services index. The monthly ADP report on hiring was also weaker in January compared to December.
