London-area airport evacuated, incoming flights suspended after suspicious package found

The passenger terminal at Luton Airport near London has been evacuated and incoming flights suspended after a suspicious package was found.

The airport says the terminal building was cleared Monday "after a suspicious item was found in the security search area."

It says incoming flights have been suspended and the approach road to the airport closed.

Luton, northwest of London, caters mostly to short-haul flights by budget airlines.
