1. Liberty Media (NASDAQ:LMCA)
Liberty Media (NASDAQ:LMCA) said it would drop its bid to buy the rest of Sirius XM (NASDAQ:SIRI) from minority shareholders. Liberty also said it would split the company into two tracking stocks. Wall Street is cheering the move, sending shares rallying 7%.
2. General Mills (NYSE:GIS)
General Mills (NYSE:GIS) disclosed an earnings guidance for the fiscal third quarter that missed Wall Street's estimates amid lower volumes. The shares are sliding more than 3%.
3. Ann (NYSE:ANN)
FOX Business News Editor / Reporter Victoria Craig says she's watching shares of Ann. The owner of Ann Taylor clothing posted better-than-expected quarterly results. The shares are edging higher.
4. Cooper Tire & Rubber (NYSE:CTB)
Cooper Tire & Rubber (NYSE:CTB) posted a 73% drop in its quarterly profits, but still beat Wall Street's estimates. The shares are jumping nearly 5%.
5. Gold (NYSE:GLD)
Gold is trading at its highest levels since last September, getting a boost from the turmoil on Wall Street this week. One way equity investors can play the volatility is through ETFs, like the SPDR Gold Trust (NYSE:GLD).
