Key SEC Official In Market Structure Debate To Leave

Gregg Berman, the associate director of the Office of Analytics and Research in the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Trading Markets, is going to leave later this month, the agency said Wednesday. Berman is a key official in the evolving debate over market structure. At the SEC, Berman worked on the analysis of the May 2011 flash crash, on rulemaking to create a consolidated audit trail and on the implementation of the Market Information Data Analytics System, the SEC said. The SEC didn't say where Berman was going or who will replace him.
