Jury selection to begin in Ventura's defamation suit against 'American Sniper' author's widow
Jury selection is set to begin in former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura's defamation lawsuit against the widow of slain "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle.
It is possible that opening statements in the trial in St. Paul could also come Tuesday.
Ventura alleges that Kyle, who is regarded as the deadliest sniper in U.S. history, defamed him in his best-selling book. In it, Kyle describes a 2006 bar fight in which Kyle says he punched a man, later identified as Ventura.
Ventura, a former Navy SEAL and pro wrestler, says the fight never happened.
Kyle and a friend were killed in February 2013 at a Texas gun range. Kyle's widow, Taya Kyle, is now the defendant in Ventura's case.
Ventura and Taya Kyle are both expected to testify during the trial.
