Jury Chosen for Insider Trading Trial

A jury was selected on Wednesday for the criminal trial of Galleon hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam in the biggest Wall Street insider trading case in decades.

The panel of 12 and six alternates will hear opening statements by a U.S. prosecutor and a defense lawyer in Manhattan federal court on Wednesday before the presentation of evidence, including wiretaps, over the next two months.

The case is USA v Raj Rajaratnam et al, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, No. 09-01184.
